We are a small software company near Stuttgart. We develop AI applications for customers using our own open-source platform. Our products Approval and Reynt use the same libraries.
What we do
We use our platform to build AI applications for your processes within weeks. They run in your own environment, with human review of every AI step.
Approval prepares software assessments for regulated organisations. Security and data protection officers review and sign them. The application runs in the organisation’s own infrastructure.
We develop and operate Reynt, the booking platform where our open-source libraries originated.
Architecture reviews, AI-assisted development, system design and implementation.
Our business model
We develop custom applications for a fixed price and maintain them for a monthly fee. Customers own the code. We license Approval to organisations that run it themselves. Rental operators use Reynt on a subscription. For consulting, we agree a fixed price or day rate in the proposal. Our platform libraries will be released under the MIT licence.
Why the code will be open
We are preparing the libraries for release under the MIT licence. Open source lets you inspect, adapt and maintain them yourself. The tests and documentation will be public too, including the limitations and advice on when to choose another tool.
Who
Daniel Hartmann founded and runs octabits. He has worked as a software architect and developer for twenty-five years and handles the architecture and much of the implementation himself. Our proposals name the people responsible for the work.
